An art wish is a unique wish!
A child who is very ill can make his or her art wish come true with the help of a real artist.
The creativity of the child is stimulated allowing the illness to be temporarily forgotten. The most beautiful paintings and other works of art are often created.
An artist usually goes with her / his materials to the sick child to make something at home, or the child can go to a real studio to work.
 
The Art Wish Foundation also organizes painting afternoons in (children's) hospitals and institutions for severely ill children.
A whole team of artists is ready, complete with easels, canvases, paints, modelling clay, etc., to accompany this afternoon.
Children who are well enough, leave their rooms. Children that must remain in the department or in bed can have an artist come to their room to create a work of art together. Older children will enjoy going into a private room (teen room) to paint.
The afternoon is often started by a short story told by one of the artists to inspire the kids. The story is filmed so that the children in the departments simultaneously can watch it on their television.
