		[Novilist]  [Present Projects] Novilist Well-known Dutch medium and benefactor Jomanda in Crikvenica Crikvenica Well-known Dutch medium and benefactor Jomanda has come to Crikvenica again this year. She has been coming every year since 1990. For many years she has been donating to the relief of war refugees who had found temporary accommodation in Crikvenica. Later she kept returning in order to provide children's homes, the elderly and the needy with money, clothes, medicines and other necessities. Her foundation, Jomanda's World Children, serves throughout the world. During the war (1990-1995) she donated over one million German marks. During her annual visits she donated to children's homes in Selce and Novi Vinodelski, the Centre for Autism in Rijeka, the Rehabilitation Centre for handicapped people, and nursing homes in Bribar, Grizane and Punat. She has also helped the day nursery Mrav i Cvrak in Tribalj, a school library in Zupanje and other institutions with her donations. This year she has planned to visit Maria Bistrica, the centre for children with learning difficulties in Zajezda, as well as the newly established pensioners' association Sunce in Crikvenica. She will also be visiting the nursing home in Fuzine, the children's home I.B. Mazuranic, the Centre for Autism in Rijeka, the day nursery in Tribalju... Healings will be held in Crikvenica and Fuzine - in Fuzine on Friday, March 28th, at 7 p.m. in Dom Kultura and in Crikvenica on March 29th at 7 p.m. in Hotel Zagreb. High Award for Jomanda On Wednesday, June 19th 2002, a Dutch delegation was welcomed in the assembly hall of the school for orphans by the mayor of Otocac district. In the company of many invitees they went to see the renovations, which had been sponsored by Jomanda. In his speech, the mayor mentioned the many merits of Jomanda in this region. She earned this special award, because for over ten years, during and also after the war, she has given great support to the people in this region, and still does. She is the first foreigner to receive this great honour. Also, the Jomanda's World Children Foundation was included in this homage by means of a certificateof appreciation.
